How to Get a Tuberculosis (TB) Test for a UK Visa Application 🏥✈️

Introduction

Who Needs a TB Test? 🧐<br>

The TB test requirement applies to applicants such as:
✅ Long-term students 🎓
✅ Work permit holders 👔
✅ Other employment & domestic workers 🏡
✅ Volunteer workers 🤝

✅ Dependents of the above applicants 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
✅ All settlement and marriage visa applicants 💍

There are only four (4) UK-approved TB test centers in Nigeria. Any test conducted outside these approved centers will not be recognized during your UK visa application.

🛑 Who is Exempt from the TB Test? 🚫

You do not need a TB certificate if you:

  • Hold a diplomatic passport and are traveling on official business 🏛️

  • Qualify for an exempt visa 🎟️

  • Are applying for a certificate of entitlement 📜

📅 Operating Hours for TB Test Centers

🕗 Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
🕛 Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

💰 TB Test Fees

💵 Payment must be made before the medical examination in Naira (₦).

  • 63 GBP for individuals aged 11 years and above 💷

  • 60 USD for individuals aged 10 years and below 💵

🏥 How to Book Your TB Test Appointment

📞 Contact one of the approved UK TB test clinics to book an appointment. Be sure to mention that the test is for a UK visa application. Appointments are usually available within a few days.

⚠️ Peak Season Alert: During the UK student visa rush (June – September), you may have to wait up to 10 days for an appointment. We cannot arrange or prioritize bookings for you.

✅ What to Bring for Your TB Test 📋

When attending your test, ensure you bring:

  • 🛂 Proof of identification (preferably your passport) 📸

  • 📑 A photocopy of your ID

  • 💳 Proof of payment for the test fee

  • 🏠 UNHCR/MHA registration documents (for refugee applicants)

  • 🏥 If you have had TB in the past or have a lung condition, bring past medical records and X-ray results
