Under Canadian law, a dependent is: β A person under 22 years old who does not have a spouse or partner β A person financially dependent due to a mental or physical condition
π Application Process
1οΈβ£ The international student applies for a study permit and can include their dependent(s) in the application. 2οΈβ£ The application is reviewed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). 3οΈβ£ If approved, the dependent child will receive a visa valid for the same duration as the primary applicantβs study permit.
