Update: StudyIn Applications for Bangladeshi Nationals Are Currently Paused

If you're a Bangladeshi national planning to study abroad, there's an important update you should know about before you submit an application through the StudyIn platform.

What's changing

StudyIn is no longer accepting new applications from Bangladeshi nationals, regardless of the country they are currently based in — including applicants already living in the UK. This applies until further notice.

Earlier exceptions had been made for Bangladeshi nationals already resident in the UK, on the basis that students already in-country generally carry less risk. However, the international recruitment landscape has been shifting quickly, and risk levels tied to specific nationalities can change within a short window. To keep the process clear and consistent for everyone, that exception has now been withdrawn.

Who this affects

• Bangladeshi nationals applying from Bangladesh.
• Bangladeshi nationals already living in the UK or any other country.
• Any application submitted through the StudyIn pathway specifically — this update does not describe every institution or every application route.

Application platforms and institutions periodically tighten or adjust which nationalities and pathways they can process, usually in response to compliance requirements, visa refusal trends, or risk assessments that sit outside any individual applicant's control.
